Molchanovs Launches Beginner Online Freediving Course

A New Way to Learn Freediving Anywhere Before You Ever Enter the Water

By Deena Lynch

January 19, 2026 — Molchanovs, a global leader in freediving education, is launching its Beginner Online Freediving Course, a fully online, self-paced program designed to make freediving education accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Built for complete beginners, the new course delivers structured, high quality freediving education entirely online, allowing students to learn theory and dry skills from home before committing to pool or open-water training. The course bridges a long-standing access gap in freediving education for those who live far from the ocean or in a place where there is no freedive club with pool access, train during off-season conditions, or simply want to arrive at their first in-water course confident and prepared.

Freediving education begins on land, building awareness and control before the first dive.

Learn Freediving From Home, Safely and Progressively

The Beginner Online Freediving Course introduces students to the fundamentals of freediving through a carefully structured learning flow that prioritizes safety, understanding, and confidence-building.

Hosted on Molchanovs Move (mobile app and web app), the course combines:

  • Expert-led video lessons
  • Written learning modules
  • Interactive quizzes and exams
  • Guided dry-training and relaxation sessions

Students progress through five sequential modules, unlocking each new section after successfully completing the previous one. Upon completion, students receive a digital certificate of completion titled Beginner Online Freediving, which can be shared and used as a foundation for future in-water training and marks the first step in their Molchanovs education pathway.

“This course allows students to learn the foundations properly without pressure, without risk, and without needing immediate access to water,” the Molchanovs Movement team explains.

“It’s about building understanding first, so in-water training becomes safer, smoother, and more enjoyable.”

A Completely Online Freediving Course

The Beginner Online Freediving Course is offered as a fully automatic online program, priced at USD $80. Early-bird pricing with 20% off is available until February 14, 2026.

  • Self-paced and accessible worldwide
  • Automated quizzes and assessments
  • No instructor required during the online phase
  • Lifetime access to course materials

The course is intentionally theory-first, making it ideal for students who:

  • Live far from the ocean or a pool
  • Are training during winter or low season
  • Want to build confidence before committing to in-water training
  • Come from breathwork, wellness, swimming, or ocean-lifestyle backgrounds

From Beginner Online Freediving to Wave 1 Training

Rather than replacing traditional freediving courses, the Beginner Online Freediving Course is designed to prepare students for their Wave 1 course with a certified Molchanovs instructor.

After earning the Beginner Online Freediving digital certificate of completion, students can confidently move on to Wave 1, where dry, pool, and open-water requirements are completed under direct supervision. By arriving already familiar with theory, safety concepts, and dry skills, students are able to focus on in-water technique and progression.

This approach supports both students and instructors, creating a smoother learning experience and supports motivated, well-prepared students into in-person training worldwide.

"I’ve always felt intimidated by freediving, but learning the theory online before traveling to a dive location made a huge difference.
